Master's Degree on Biomedical Biotechnology

Biomedical biotechnology is on the frontier between basic biomedical research and already established medical biotechnological applications and deals with the new generation of biotechnological tools for research, diagnostics and medical treatments.

Biomedical biotechnology is a new name for the present situation of creative fervour in both public and private research centres, in which potential new tools for use in clinical practice are continually being developed, even though they do not all reach the stage of wide-scale adoption. The enormous vitality of this field is therefore sufficient reason for us to offer a degree in this speciality.


OBJECTIVES
The purpose of
Master's Degree on Biomedical Biotechnology is the student's acquisition of advanced and specializedd training in molecular and cellular biotechnology.


This involves the acquisition of basic skills applied to the diagnosis and therapy of human diseases, as well as global integration with research, clinical, pharmaceutical and business opportunities. The focus of this Master is in the current state of biomedical biotechnology.

 

The objective of the Master is that students are able to integrate basic medical needs in the context of translational research (bench to bedside). Including reflections on technical possibilities of diagnostics and therapeutics as well as social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge.

 

ORIENTED TO
Bachelor in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Chemistry, and agronomists of the specialties of Biotechnology and Animal Production and Improvement.

 

Classes begin this year on October 17, 2011 and end on June 8, 2012. Each year usually begin around the same time approximately. It has a duration of 90 credits.

 

It is organized by the Department of Biotechnology of the UPV and has the support of the Fundación Hospital La Fe deValencia, Hospital General Universitari, Asebio y Bioval.
