Condolencias por el fallecimiento de dos jóvenes compañeros, AAR y CIGR

We deeply regret to communicate a tragic traffic accident happened yesterday on a national road in Southern Spain. Resulting from this, Clara I. García Ruano, Vicepresident the Spanish Federation (FEBiotec) Board and Albert Almasqué, Vicepresident of the Catalan local Biotechnologists’ Association (ASBTEC )and General Coordinator of the V Inter-University Biotechnology Congress have passed away. Fromall entities involved: local spanish associations( especially ASBTEC and ASBAN), FEBiotec, the Spanish Federation of biotechnologists, and international organizations like the YEBN (Young European Biotech Network) or the EFB (European Federation of Biotechnology), we all would like to show our most sincere and heartfelt pain in front of such an event.

Both volunteers have contributed invaluably to build the biotechnologist professional figure and helped to define it, improving and enhancing the professional expectations of the collective. Their irreplaceable participation within the governmental entities aforementioned, has allowed to develop our tasks with one of the best working environment imaginable, leaving an indelible personal mark to all the comrades who have had the opportunity to work alongside.

On behalf of all the entities above mentioned, we would like to send to the families and close friends our condolences from the common and absolute shock to all its members. We also want to thank all the words of encouragement we received to help us to assume this horrible situation in the best possible way.
